“Brenda Epperson – Don’t Give Up If You Believe”
featuring the song “I Cry Freedom”[/vc_column_text][vc_message color=”alert-info” style=”3d”]I hope you heard the previous episode, in which I featured beautiful music and conversation with Brenda Epperson. (If you missed it, go back and hear it here.) In this conclusion episode, Brenda and I continue discussing her live event. The ASCEND Conference, which she organizes with Susan Wehba and Kathleen Cooke, is an annual gathering that empowers and teaches women to triumph over their life challenges. And music plays a huge role in that, as you will discover. Brenda shares with me just how she came to write her powerful song, “I Cry Freedom” and the emotion she felt recording it. Then, we talk briefly about her family ties and then back to her music. As “I Cry Freedom” plays behind us, Brenda throws me a quick compliment about one of my songs. But make sure to listen to her insightful advice at the end. The message is very special. Blessings on Brenda!!![/vc_message][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text h1_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956831}” h2_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956831}” h3_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956832}” h4_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956832}” h5_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956833}” h6_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956834}” p_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956834}” link_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956835}” list_css=”{.vc_customizer_1439868956835}”]

This song was written by its founding co-director, Brenda Epperson. Her inspiration for the song came from Isaiah 61, and the sound for “I Cry Freedom,” came from the memories of her deceased father, Don Epperson. Don was a country western singer, as well as a RCA/Victor Recording artist on his way to success before his untimely death. Brenda is best known for the eight years she played Ashley Abbott on The Young & The Restless. Her credits and accomplishments span over a decade. Brenda’s success in music is notable. She signed with Sony Tri/Star Music, charted with her Single “If You Believe,” and was chosen as the opening act for the world famous Lionel Richie on his “Time” tour. Brenda and Lionel toured all over Europe, entertaining crowds that reached upwards of 20,000.
“I really hope you enjoy this new song I wrote, new sound, as well as the heart behind “I Cry Freedom.”
“People often ask me where I find such strength, I simply reply God. I want to thank my family and friends who have always been there for me. I believe nothing is impossible with God! Remember, it just takes ONE.“
