A refreshing new professor just started his first course at Dennis Prager’s online university, and he is comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla. Course #1 is shown below, and it’s a pretty good one. However, I shook my head in disappointment when I saw the comments box on YouTube for this video. Adam has a pithy but valuable life lesson that he shared in a four and a half minute video, and I guess his delivery of the message turned some people off. Sorry people if you didn’t “get it” despite claims that you’ve heard it all before.
I believe that if there is genuine truth in a message, it is up to the individual listeners to interpret it. Those that won’t may find themselves with a bitter taste in their mouth, and the mouth may often have bitter things to say. The good news is that we can all rinse that bitterness out on a daily basis and speak with a fresh tongue. I can personally attest to that.
All ambitious people – – songwriters, musicians, ditch diggers, civil servants, entrepreneurs – – can apply this free advice and turn it into profit to enrich their soul. As luck would have have it, Adam Carolla is an unlucky guy, and so am I. Is that a good or bad thing? It all depends on how you’re willing to look at it.
