StrongWriter On The Radio – Episode 169 “DON CHEREL – Telling the Story Of My Miracle Through Music” (AUDIO PODCAST)

Creative entrepreneur DON CHEREL is a jack of so many trades in the field of entertainment. He's been behind the camera directing feature films and high profile commercials. He's also been behind the microphone as an audio engineer and music producer. All the while, Don has been telling stories in some form, and this year finds him taking a fresh approach through songwriting. We talk about his life and the experiences which led to the creation of his debut album, "Hand Made Content." With his wife at his side (singing a duet on "Can't Love You Like I Used To"), Don tells the touching personal story behind a song "Miracles Happen" that made it into the album at the last minute. As the host of this program, I was honored to be Don's first interview for his new project, plus wishing his twin daughters a happy 1st birthday. After all, the girls are the inspiration for "Miracles Happen," and you'll love the honest testimony from their proud dad. Please enjoy this very special episode!

Don Cherel is a storytellerSometimes his stories are told with pen and paper, sometimes with camera and lens, but for most of his life he has told stories with a guitar and microphone.  As an award winning commercial director, feature film cameraman, audio engineer, music producer and songwriter, Don’s stories have been seen, heard and consumed by millions of Americans for more than a decade.

For his debut album Hand Made Content (release date 08/23/19), Don collaborated with world renowned Grammy Award winning record producer, engineer and inventor George Massenburg, in an effort to bring his personal stories to life through music.  The result is an 11 song collection of personal stories accompanied an impressive group of musicians, assembled by Massenburg and world renowned guitarist Pat Bergeson.

He released the single “Miracles Happen” on 04/12/19, a compelling story of pain, fear and the miraculous birth of his twin daughters.

The emotional roller coaster and Cherel’s gratitude led him back to his guitar, and in March, the song “Miracles Happen” came to life… he hopes that his song is a testament to the power of music and writing — not only as an outlet to get through a difficult time, but as a way to channel emotions and celebrate all that is good.” – Rockmommy blog
