“Gordon Jensen – You Can Find Water In the Desert Of Your Days”
featuring the songs “God Makes the Impossible Probable” “Written In Red” and “Desert Of My Days”[/vc_column_text][vc_message color=”alert-info” style=”3d”]Sometimes when I host my show StrongWriter On the Radio I can’t be shy when it comes to faith and encouragement. Gospel songwriter Gordon Jensen has very strong faith in God and has written so many songs that exhibit this, so I thought I had to be on my best behavior and step up my Godliness. This was not necessary, because Gordon has such an inviting and comfortable demeanor, and all I had to do was be myself. That’s obviously the right thing to do, anyway, right? In the conclusion of this two-part episode, Mr. Jensen and I pick up where we left off as we discussed publishing etiquette. Then we exchange our musical philosophy, and I share three of his more popular songs and get his take on them. Gordon concludes our conversation by imparting a little of his wisdom for artists of all types.
He was a true gentleman, and such a fantastic guest, that it was difficult to stop the conversation. But he is definitely invited back! Enjoy him while he is here on my show!![/vc_message][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text h1_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284218}” h2_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284218}” h3_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284219}” h4_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284220}” h5_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284220}” h6_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284221}” p_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284222}” link_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284222}” list_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710284223}”]

The accolades bestowed on this man are many, as countless artists have recorded his material and church choirs all over the world sing his songs.
Born in Canada, and raised in a devout Christian home, Jensen accepted Christ as a child of six. A desire to serve the Lord and express love for Him through music led to his first public performance at twelve. By age sixteen, he was an integral part of The Orrells, a touring band which later evolved into Gordon Jensen and Sunrise. A ten-year affiliation with these groups provided a forum for Jensen’s songwriting and spanned several albums for Zondervan and Benson Co. labels.
Throughout the 1990’s, Jensen released three albums on the One Story label, all produced by Garrett Hestla. Jensen’s album Listening Lord, is a ten song collection of recently written material, produced by J. D. Miller, a stellar musician who has worked with some of the biggest names in secular and gospel music.
Widespread radio airplay and chart success have followed Jensen through the years with #1 records like “God Still Loves the World”, “Bigger Than Any Mountain”, and “When I Lift Him Up In Praise.”
Nominated on five occasions for Songwriter of the Year by the Gospel Music Association, several of Jensen’s compositions have garnered the GMA’s Top Ten Songs of the Year distinction. Among the three hundred plus titles he has written: “I Should Have Been Crucified,” “Jesus Will Outshine Them All,” “He’s As Close As the Mention Of His Name,” “Tears Are A Language,” “Bring Back The New Again,” “Desert Of My Days,” “You’re The Only Jesus (Some Will Ever See),” and “Written In Red.” Collaboration with leading arrangers has yielded a number of widely used choral collections. Jensen’s work defies categorization as it reflects many musical influences and appeals to a wide spectrum of people. He has enjoyed enthusiastic response in a variety of concert settings including colleges and churches of all denominations.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” interval=”3″ images=”10603,10598,10607,10605,10597,10604,10606,10602″ onclick=”custom_link” custom_links_target=”_self” custom_links=”http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/,http://gordonjensen.homestead.com/”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_message color=”alert-success” style=”3d”]Translated into fifteen languages, Gordon’s songs have been recorded in excess of two thousand times by such artists as: Cynthia Clawson, Larnelle Harris, The Imperials, Dallas Holm, The Cathedrals, Janet Paschal, Rusty Goodman, The Booth Brothers, Squire Parsons, The Continental Singers, along with names like Gaither, Winans, Roy Acuff, The Oak Ridge Boys, and a host of others. Jensen and his music have been featured several times on the Bill and Gloria Gaither and their Homecoming Friends video series. The classic “Redemption Draweth Nigh,” which Jensen penned at age eighteen, has been recorded over three hundred times alone and became the musical theme for the movie “A Distant Thunder.”[/vc_message][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][ivan_info_box ico_family=”fa fa-” position=”left” vertical=”no” align=” default-align” style=”circle” size=”64″ main_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710487514}” icon_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710487515}color:#dd3333;background-color:#1e73be;” title_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710487515}” content_css=”{.vc_customizer_1430710487516}” ico=”music”]Visit Gordon’s website:
