“Lea Longo – Peace Through Yoga and Love Through Music”
featuring tracks from the album SONGS OF A SIREN[/vc_column_text][vc_message color=”alert-info” style=”3d”]What a wonderful time I had on the show when Montreal based singer/songwriter Lea Longo made a return appearance.  Lea is not your typical musical artist, as she blends smooth jazz with ancient sacred chants emanating from Kirtan, which is not your typical music.  To understand just how well this synergy works, you must listen to her recent CD Songs Of a Siren!  In this first of two episodes, I learn about Lea’s home life and her love for music as she grew up.  You’ll get to hear samples of her album, and listen as she explains to me a yogini’s lifestyle and a very special event that she is producing, the Montreal Chant Fest.   Please enjoy her as she visits with me on the program, and to all … Namaste!!

Few artists can boast a rich and varied musical path that Lea Longo has. From pop to world music through jazz, this award winning Canadian singer/songwriter has explored several genres with equal success, garnering praise and prizes along the way. From winning a National Songwriting Contest to chanting mantras, and recording 4 CD’s including ZEN VOYAGE & PEACE CHANTS, her 2 mantra CD’s were well received in the Sacred Chant community.

Lea’s voice has been described as “Spiritually Rewarding”, and her previous songs has been featured in popular Film & TV shows as: Cheaper by the Dozen, She Drives me Crazy, Dawson’s Creek, Party of Five, Felicity, and many more. After discovering Indian mantras from her India trip in 2006, Lea transformed herself totally by adopting the practice in her life and presently, Lea leads yoga of sound classes (kirtans) and concerts in notable Festivals like Wanderlust, Fest yoga, Yocomo, Open Mind Festival, The Toronto Yoga Conference and more. She is the also the founder and co-producer of the Montreal Chant Fest and Om Montreal.

Her new self-produced CD called ‘SONGS OF A SIREN’ returns to her past musical education (she holds a BA in JAZZ Music) ,the album is a collection of original love songs, mantras, and known jazz standards like “FEVER” “Here’s To Life” & “The Very Thought of You” hypnotizing the listener with Lea’s sensual, seducing vocals, and musical arrangements morphing the verses & choruses with Indian mantras with the twist of Jazz, making the “East meets West” a true successful listening discovery.
